Designed for bi-amp operation, this 4 channel amplifier is configured ready to run most typical bi-amp applications.
Channels A + C are high power channels - for running bass/mid - and have the following maximum power output:
2500W into 2 ohms
2200W into 4 ohms
1100W into 8 ohms
Channels B + D are medium power channels - for running mid/high - and have the following maximum power ratings:
1600W into 2 ohms
1200W (EIAJ burst) into 4 ohms 800W continuous sine wave @ 1khz
700W into 8 ohms
These are short term pulse power ratings for Class D amplifiers, these are genuine power ratings as the amplifiers are designed to handle large peaks for short periods of time without distortion/clipping. This gives excellent headroom for additional clarity in critical vocal applications. We recommend matching up the power ratings of this amplifier to the program power of your speaker system. Long term power ratings (for heavy bass) are typically 20-30% lower than maximum power depending on the crest factor of the program material.
For added convenience, the speakon output connectors are pre-wired for bi-amp operation:
Channel A is wired to pins 1 and 1- on speakon 1
Channel B is wired to pins 2 and 2- on speakon 1, and also to pins 1 and 1- on speakon 2.
Speakon 1 can therefore be used for bi-amp operation from channels A and B without the need of an external patch panel. Channel B can be used on its own from speakon 2 if required.
Channel C is wired to pins 1 and 1- on speakon 3
Channel D is wired to pins 2 and 2- on speakon 3 and also to pins 1 and 1- on speakon 4.
Speakon 3 can therefore be used for bi-amp operation from channels A and B without the need of an external patch panel. Channel D can be used on its own from speakon 4 if required.
Each channel has its own separate PSU and is individually fused, in the event of any failure only the affected channel will shut down, and the other channels will continue to operate as normal.
